Why do diets almost never succeed, or do they succeed in the short term?
Because people see diets as a temporary solution to a lifelong problem. Instead of following some crazy diets that consist of carrots and beans and nothing more, you should focus on making the right lifestyle choices. This will allow you to live a healthy life without having to drink the magic fruit juice that you paid too much for.
Do not focus on dieting, but on a well-balanced diet.
Instead of
telling yourself that you ate healthy today when you had that
"salad" (when we know full well that the salad had more calories than
your friends' hamburger and french fries), do the following things to improve
your diet. And do not worry. You can still eat pizza, just leave the
"salad" aside.
Eat healthier with these 10 tips!
Do not drink your calories
When going out to dinner with your friends or family, drink
water or black coffee instead of soda or juice. Drinking your calories does not
lead to satiety. In other words, drinking your calories will not get you full.
Not drinking two fizzy drinks a day will save you 300 calories, which equates
to more than 20 pounds a year.
Watch out for dressings
Dressings add unnecessary calories to your diet. Common
toppings such as ketchup, BBQ sauce, and cream dressings add hundreds of
calories to your meal. Instead, stick to low-calorie spices like hot sauce,
buffalo sauce, or mustard. These spices or vinegar supplements have very few
calories compared to the others.
Set the cheese
aside!
Yes we all love
cheese. I'm not saying exclude it from your pizza either because it will kill
you. However, excluding cheese from some everyday meals, such as salads and
sandwiches, will reduce your caloric intake to several hundred calories. BUT
the truth is that we all know how incredibly good cheese is, so maybe just ask
the waiter to put less in your next meal.
Always bring
home-prepared food
When you are at
work, school, or out, you do not have to bring boiled chicken and three spinach
leaves for lunch. But whenever you are able to bring your own lunch you are far
more likely to consume fewer calories because you can plan ahead what you would
eat today for lunch and control the calories. Many times restaurant meals have
over 1000 calories. However, even bringing home-made chocolate cake for lunch
is likely to eat far fewer calories than eating fast food from a restaurant.
We all want to
have a snack while we work. Especially in the afternoon. Instead of going to
the food processor to get your daily intake of chocolates, sweets, and chips,
there are a number of snack options that are healthy and do not taste bad -
nuts such as nuts, hazelnuts, almonds, low-fat
fruit yogurts,
some fruit bars etc.
Eat smaller meals
Your overall
weight gain/loss is simply determined by how many calories you eat and how
many calories you burn. However, by dividing your daily calories into smaller
meals, you will avoid the pain caused by hunger. You will also be less likely
to overeat. Many people only eat at lunch and dinner. This causes them to
overeat in these two meals. If your daily calorie intake is to be 2,000
calories, try splitting those calories into five 400-calorie meals instead of
two 1000-calorie meals.
Eat vegetables
I know what you
think now. So naturally, I know I should eat vegetables, I learned that in first
grade. But the number of people who eat little or no vegetables at all is
shocking. Vegetables do not have to taste like ordinary grass. Just include
vegetables as a salad or side dish while eating your daily meals and your body
will be grateful.
Reduce with sugar
Follow the 5/2
rule, ie do not eat sugars in 5 days and eat in 2. You determine your days.
Most of your diet should consist of healthy natural foods, but allow yourself
to eat chocolate as long as it is in moderation. Choose a small snack that has
no more than 100 calories, instead of a large pack of Snickers, Kit-Kat, or a whole pack of ice cream.
Have breakfast
Research shows
that people who eat breakfast are less likely to exceed the required caloric
intake for the rest of the day. Your elementary school teachers did not lie to
you when they told you that breakfast is the most important meal of the day. In the country where
I live there is a saying ‘’have breakfast like a king, lunch like a prince and dinner like a poor man’’
Practice moderation
Some days it is okay to eat barbecue or your favorite fast
food until you make it a habit. Allow yourself a "cheat day" once a week,
but just make sure your overall diet is right for the rest of the week.
